During the pandemic and throughout the industry’s gradual recovery, ACT was proud to provide strong support to actors’ families. The challenges were particularly tough on children and young people, but we’re honoured to have played a role in helping them catch up and move forward.
Offering this level of support during such an extraordinary time naturally placed a significant strain on our resources. As we look ahead and begin to rebuild, ACT is more reliant than ever on the generosity of our supporters. Your gifts continue to make a meaningful difference.
We keep overheads and running costs to a minimum: ACT’s work is managed by only two part-time staff members and our engaged and hardworking Trustees, who gift their time.
Our funding has come through donations and legacies. Every donation you make is

How your donation helps
ACT aims to be fair to all eligible families, so we have a standard ceiling for some
types of funding.
Special needs assessments can cost up to £2,500. Therapy for children with Down
syndrome or cerebral palsy can cost £500 per month. Many grants are smaller: for
a school laptop, for some school uniform, or for a LAMDA exam, etc.
ACT makes special crisis grants. When a family is homeless, or a parent
has cancer, or in any other crisis, ACT can provide monthly support for up to 6
months.
Everything we do is part of helping actor-parents to give their children the most
secure and creative lives possible.
