Rebecca Crankshaw & Lee Dean, Co-Chairs of The Actors’ Children’s Trust:
“This has been one of the most important decisions in the Actors’ Children’s Trust’s 130-year history. Our Board has always believed that our responsibility extends beyond preserving the charity itself; it is to preserve the purpose for which it was founded. After careful consideration, we concluded that joining the Royal Theatrical Fund is the best way to ensure that purpose continues to thrive.
Our members have placed their trust in us to make decisions that are in the long-term interests of actor families, and we are delighted that they have supported this merger so overwhelmingly. Throughout this process, protecting ACT’s mission, values and legacy has been at the heart of every discussion.
We would like to thank the generations of trustees, volunteers, supporters and beneficiaries who have shaped the Actors’ Children’s Trust over the past 130 years. Their commitment has created a remarkable legacy, and we are proud that legacy will continue through the Royal Theatrical Fund, ensuring that children and families in our profession will continue to receive the support they need for many years to come.
We are also grateful to the Royal Theatrical Fund for embracing ACT’s mission and values with such care and commitment. We look forward to seeing our shared purpose continue to make a lasting difference to the children of actors and actors with children for generations to come.”
